Dotsero to Hanging Lake is flatwater with the exception of three short class II rapids. This section of the river is the site of the annual Canoe Colorado Canoe/Kayak Race which has been taking place almost 20 years in mid-August.
Exit I-70 at Dotsero. Go to north side of I-70. Go to east side of Colorado River. You will find a large parking lot, toilets and boat ramps.

The take out is at Hanging Lake Rest Area, but there is only an east bound exit from I-70 to Hanging Lake. You will need to go four miles west of Hanging Lake to Grizzly Creek then go east on I-10 back to the Hanging Lake exit. Also there is only a west bound exit at Hanging Lake so again you need to go to Grizzly Creek to go east on I-70.
