Utility sleds are available that could be used for evacuating injured or ill skiers to the parking lot. The sleds can be pulled by skier, snow shoer, or snowmobile.
Sled #1 is at Skyway and leaning against a tree where the grooming equipment used to be kept. It can be seen from the trail. It is a wood sled mounted on skis. Due to the lack of bouyancy of the skis, the sled works only on groomed trails. It's equipped with a back rest that can be locked in the up position or down. The sled is also equipped with brakes for speed control during descents. There are extensions with straps that could be used for additional skiers to help pull or for carrying skis and poles on the side of the sled.
Sled #2 is located at County line behind the grooming snowmobiles. This sled was made from on old kayak. Under the sled is a camo colored bag which contains blankets, sleeping bag, and first aid kit.

Trail testing with Jerry and Joyce on the flats.

Jerry pulls the sled up a hill.

Jerry and Joyce test the brakes on downhill on Lions Loop heading north to four corner intersection. Jerry's snowplow was not needed. Joyce could have stopped the sled in the middle of the hill with the brakes.
